Last February 21, 2013, the Department of Biological Science of Central Luzon State University in cooperation with the Philippine Society of Microbiology hosted the 2nd Scientist in focus with the theme: Agricultural Microbiology and Biotechnology: Innovations in Bioentrepreneurship. 
Participants who attended and participated were undergraduate students and professionals from nearby institutions. Speakers were Dr. Dionisio Alvindia and Dr. Renato Reyes. Dr. Alvindia presented the status and trends of Banana Postharvest research in the Philippines while Dr. Reyes presented the Academe and Private Partnership towards the development of Mushroom Nutraceutical industry in the Philippines.
